NEIL Smith led the way for Spa Striders, as the club resumed their Warwickshire Road Race League campaign at the Stratford Summer 6.
A time of 33:20 was enough to rank Smith in sixth, with Chris McKeown (33:28) following shortly after in 33:28, while Adam Notley (10th, 34:13), Simon Ludford (16th, 35:15), Steven Taylor (24th, 36:42), Tim Beresford (37th, 38:06), Trevor Wilkinson (42nd, 38:49) and John Paul-Hunt (43rd, 38:54) made up the top 50 for the club.
The club also made a return to the Summer Series, competing in a 3km event at Edmonscote Track, where Ian Allen was the leading Strider out of the 18-strong contingent from the club with his 9:25 fastest time.
McKeown (9:34), Notley (9:54) and Ludford (9:56) were impressive once again with their sub-ten minute times, while Mairi Walker (11:16), Kat Robertson (12:42) and Lucy Tugwell (13:37) were the fastest female runners.
Emma Bish, Abi Morton and Zoe Beale took on the 18-mile Birmingham Canal Canter challenge walk, while over in Canada, Shaun Martin (50:49) finished seventh in the Middleton Heart Run 10km.
