RACING Club Warwick have announced that they are set to form a women’s team, with the hope of joining the women’s football pyramid in time for the 2020/21 season.

The move comes as Warwick also look to branch out into disability football – offering further inclusivity to promising players in the local area.

Speaking on the decision, chairman Gary Vella said: “As a club we will put into place a structure that strives for progression and ambition in all departments, with the women’s teams developing into a hub for female participation in the Warwick district community.

“We have several options but ultimately we wish for a team to play in the women’s pyramid alongside several development teams in the local leagues.

“We also plan to offer a women’s scholarship academy.”

Racing are also appealing for physios and a kit manager to join them for the upcoming season, as the club prepare for life in the Midlands Football League Premier Division.

Applicants will be available on Saturday afternoon’s and for midweek games during the season, and are asked to email applications to [email protected]
