THE BEAUTIFUL Hook Horton was the setting as 17 Spa Striders took on the Hooky 6 event on Sunday.
Paul Edwards was the first Strider back in a time of 36.37 which was enough for 11th spot and he was followed home by Andrew Bonjour in 39.14 while Simon Parsons was the third fastest Strider male in 40.38.
Carolyn Wilkinson led the ladies home in third position overall and her time of 39.37 was enough to finish first in the V45 category and she was followed home by Fiona Edwards in 43.13.
Elsewhere, Gethyn Friswell completed the Ironman 70.3 Budapest last weekend in a time of 5:50.01, which was a 25 minute personal best over the distance on a scorching hot day.
