CRICKET: NORTON Lindsey continue to be involved in a three-way scrap for the Cotswold Hills Premier Division title.

The leading group are now separated by just nine points as Norton Lindsey & Wolverton strengthened their position in third place to set up a fascinating climax over the next two weekends.

Another strong performance saw Norton brush aside Leamington’s 3rd team to take more points than their title rivals.

Batting first, Norton Norton made steady progress on a sluggish wicket – reaching 57/2 after 20 overs.

Despite this, Richard Pozzi (37) and Stuart Shephard (56) held the innings together and delivered a solid stand of 83 over the space of 23 overs.

Once they parted, Shephard was joined by Conor Green (28). The pair put on 42 runs in quick time.

A late scramble saw Norton reach 186/9 at the break.

Norton’s fielding work paid dividends once again as Leamington never got going in reply.

David Mcinnes and Pozzi (13/4) led the way as they removed the openers, then ripped apart the rest of the order.

At 55/6 the game was effectively over.

Glenn Lacey and Andy Dewar were similarly brutal. Their seven overs claimed three wickets for just 14 runs between them.

Leamington were all out for just 112 in 29 overs, earning Norton two extra points for a sub-120 dismissal.
