WARWICKSHIRE’s Nick Skelton is set to appear in his seventh Olympic Games after being selected as part of Great Britain’s equestrian team for Rio 2016.
The British Olympic Association (BOA) has this week announced the 12 athletes that will compete for Team GB across the three equestrian disciplines of eventing, dressage and jumping.
Skelton will represent his country again in the jumping discipline on his 13-year-old horse Big Star and he will be looking to come away from Brazil with another medal after winning gold in London four years ago.
He said: “I’m very happy. Hopefully we can do as good a job as we did in London.
“I’m delighted to have been selected; the horse is jumping well and is in good form, and let’s just hope we can do a good job.”
