NETBALL: MEMBERS, friends and family from Leamington gathered together on Saturday to celebrate the opening of their new courtside facility on Saturday.
The new hub now includes a toilet, a kitchen, storage and changing area which has been funded by a £30,000 grant contribution from Warwick District Council’s Rural and Urban Capital Improvement Scheme (RUCIS), while a further £30,000 of match funding was raised by club members.
“The vision to build this courtside facility began in 2012 and those aspirations have become reality,” said Leamington chair and life member Jan Thomas.
“We joined Leamington Rugby Club 26 years ago and the success of the club has gone from strength to strength, with representative teams at junior, senior and West Midlands competitions.
“This achievement would not have been possible without the support of the members raising an amazing £30,000 in 11 months and to the contribution of £30,000 from Warwick District Council.”
