CHARLES Leggitt and Lesley Cheslin successfully hosted Captains Weekend at Kenilworth Golf Club which consisted of competitions for both men and ladies.
The captains generously provided welcome refreshments at the halfway house and the men’s event was a keenly contested affair with James Leggitt, son of Charles, winning Division One with 38 points from Mark Edwards 37 and Mick Rossborough 37.
John Slater took the honours in Division Two with an excellent 40 points from Peter Griffiths 39 and Phil Eccles 39, while the Division Three winner was Neil Meggit with 37 points from Adrian Booth 36 and David Sheepy 36.
Ben Hammond carded the best gross score of 73, while Tom Higgitt hit the longest drive on the 12th and Graham Morgan was nearest the pin on the 18th.
The ladies winner was Lynn Harrison with 37 points from Karen McKenna 36 and Alison Seymour Mead 35.
Division Two saw success for Val Cushing with 33 points from Cherry Matthews 32 and Mandy Johnson 30, while the Division Three winner was Judith Ward with 30 points from Anne Stewart 28 and Wendy Williams 27.
Karen McKenna posted the best gross score of 85, while Cath Hoare won the longest drive and Lix Brown was nearest the pin winner.
