LEAMINGTON table tennis star Kelly Sibley will spearhead England’s charge at next month’s World Team Championships in Kuala Lumpur.
The 27-year-old will lead her country along with Tin-Tin Ho and Karina Le Fevre as England, who are ranked number 32 in the world, compete in the second division.
England have been drawn against Serbia, the top-ranked country at that level, in Group E and will also face Canada (34), Belgium (39), Turkey (42) and New Zealand (48).
Sibley and Ho were both in the 2014 squad along with Joanna Drinkhall and Hannah Hicks who finished 29th.
England’s men’s team return to the top level of the world game – the Championship Division – for the first time since 1997 having earned promotion in Tokyo two years ago.
The squad of Liam Pitchford, Paul Drinkhall, Sam Walker and Andrew Baggaley are ranked 18th for the tournament and have been drawn against second seeds Germany in Group B, along with Sweden (seeded eighth), France (ninth), Denmark (16) and the 24th-ranked host nation.
The tournament takes place from February 28 to March 6.
