BOXER Isabella Madden took to the ring for her first bout since joining Clearys Boxing Club and beat Roni Dean Attleborough to move into the semi-finals of the Development Championships.
Madden, who has moved to Clearys from Warwick ABC, boxed well to overcome her opponent and progress in the competition. She will now face Hayley Forbes of Ockmead ABC in the final four this Saturday.
Coach Roy Thorton said: “Entering the championships at the semis stage was always going to be tough as the level of boxing will be higher but she’s relaxed.
“Now that’s she’s had her first bout this season and her first bout for her new club, she can concentrate on bringing out her best boxing after the championships.
“She’s going to be kept busy traveling north and south over November with fellow stable mate Morgan Ansell and the rest of the female squad.”
