LUKE Shearer scored his second goal in as many games as Racing Club Warwick earned their first league win of the season with a 2-0 victory away at Bugbrooke St Michaels.
Shearer’s second-half penalty put Warwick ahead before substitute Matt Reed sealed the points in injury time at The Sett.
The result means the Racers sit fifth in the United Counties League Premier Division South table after two matches.
Warwick dominated the first half and did everything but score as Josh Parsons and Jay Dilonga hit the woodowkr while Cam Ebutt saw his effort cleared off the line.
However, despite Bugbrooke making a strong start to the second period, Warwick took the lead on 52 minutes when Shearer drew a foul in the box and duly scored from the resulting penalty.
And the Racers settled the game at the death as Reed fired home from Connor Mort’s pass to ensure the visitors picked up their first league win of the campaign.
Warwick are next in action away at Darlaston Town on Saturday, August 5 in the FA Cup extra preliminary round with kick-off at 3pm at the Paycare Stadium.
