OLD Leamingtonians Ladies lost out in gusty conditions last weekend, going down 39-10 to Lichfield Greens in Women’s Championship Midlands 2.
The wet and windy conditions set up for a difficult afternoon, despite Leamingtonians battling hard in the contest.
In the 12th minute, Lichfield opened the scoring through a converted try, before adding a second try shortly after.
By half-time, Lichfield held a 29-0 lead, but Old Leams remained spirited and started to mount a comeback.
Fly-half Pauline Dumont clinched the first points of the afternoon for her side when crossing the whitewash, whilst inside-centre Kate Whitfield followed up with a second try.
Lichfield reminded their opponents of their strength though, and broke through the OL defence which had held firm in the second-half, scoring twice more to finish off the scoring at 39-10.
The result keeps Old Leams Ladies bottom of the division, and play their final fixture of the season at home to fifth-placed Birmingham Moseley Ladies on Saturday March 17th.
