CHARLIE Chick from Warwick Boat Club has earned himself a trial for the GB rowing squad, after taking a gold medal at the weekend.
The 16-year old finished first in a single scull event held at the Marlow Town Regatta on the River Thames, and now stands in contention to represent Great Britain in the annual GB v France junior match, when taking part in trials at the end of the month at Dorney Lake.
Chick, who has been a member at the club since last year, took gold after coming out on top in a competition against top rowers from leading independent schools, and said: “Winning was great but to then be selected for the forthcoming GB trials is a fabulous bonus.”
