LEAMINGTON runner Brian Darby is celebrating after winning gold at the World Masters Athletics Outdoor Championships in Lyon, France.
Brian, who is a member of Coventry Godiva Harriers, was a member of the British M40 4×4 400m relay team that finished first and he also reached the final of the M40 400m event.
“I really enjoyed the Masters World Championships in Lyon,” said Brian. “It was great to be racing again at this level after sustaining a bad quad injury two years ago.
“It was brilliant to be part of a Great Britain team effort to get gold in the 4 X 400m M40 relay and I am really happy to make the individual final and to be on my way back to be able to compete for individual championship medals.”
