Youngsters turning pennies into pounds to buy school computers

Leamington Editorial 18th Jun, 2017   0

BUSINESS-minded youngsters from Milverton Primary are putting their skills to the test in a bid to replace the school’s aging computers.

Pupils have each been given a pound from Leamington estate agents ehB Residential and have been tasked with ways to increase it.

And so far plans for bake sales, sponsored cycling events and car washes have all been put forward by the budding businessmen and women.

Spokeswoman Kate Beckingsale from The Friends of Milverton Primary School group said: “We came up with the ‘Grow a Pound’ idea as the school’s computers are getting a little old and tired.

“The staff would like iPads for the classrooms, so this is a way for the children to get involved and host their own individual events.

“The children have already come up with some brilliant ideas and we look forward to seeing how much they raise.”
