KIND-hearted Kenilworth youngsters have fasted for 22 hours each to raise money for local food banks.
Eight Crackley School pupils – all aged five to 11-years-old – set a target of £100, but have so far raised more than £2,000.
Amelia Hunt, Leyton Hunt, Millie Lammas, Annalise Milburn, Samuel Beaman-Henderson, Jasper Nicholls, Seb Darch and Henry Wright wanted to raise money after hearing in an RE lesson that local families might face a Christmas without food.
Amelia said: “It wasn’t too difficult and we talked to each other during the day and that really helped, but I only realised quite how hungry I was when I finally had something to eat after we finished the fast at the end of the day.”
The money is all being donated to The Trussell Trust, which supports UK food banks.
