Warwickspace brightens up thanks to volunteers

Leamington Editorial 10th Nov, 2017   0

A VALUABLE community centre has received some much-needed TLC.

Volunteers from Baxi Heating have brightened up Warwickspace Community Centre in Warwick with a lick of paint while others worked to improve the aged heating system.

The Leamington-based firm also donated a brand new boiler to nearby Coten End Pre-School.

The centre is used by a number of charities and organisations from fitness classes and music groups to playgroups and social events for older people.

Chair Roger Beckett said hiring costs were low to ensure groups could use the facilities, but refurbishing the building could be expensive.

He added: “We are very grateful to the team of volunteers who came along to paint.

“It’s great for the people who use our facilities to have them freshened up. Baxi’s expertise and generosity in providing the new boiler will ensure we can keep them warm and provide hot water for many more years to come.”

Warwick and Leamington MP Matt Western added it was fantastic to see a company like Baxi using its expertise to help a valuable community organisation like Warwickspace.
