Vulnerable woman has purse stolen in Leamington robbery

A VULNERABLE woman in her 40s had her purse stolen during a robbery in Leamington.

The victim was in the Pump Room Gardens around 2.30pm on Monday (July 20) when she was approached by a woman on a blue bike.

The woman demanded she handed over her purse, and threatened to assault her if she failed to do so.

She then searched the victim’s handbag and stole her purse, which contained cash and a Tesco clubcard, before leaving on the bike over the bridge in the direction of York Road.




The woman is described as around 5ft 7in with brown, curly hair.

At the time of the incident she was wearing a brown hooded coat with a fur trim hood and white training shoes.


Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to get in touch.
