NEIGHBOURS in Leamington are celebrating after winning £30,000 each with People’s Postcode Lottery.
The winning postcode of CV31 3LX, just off Queensway, is now set for wedding preparations and the arrival of a new car.
Gemma Behan and her fiancé Matt have been engaged for two years and winning the money means they can finally tie the knot.
“We’ll get married as soon as we can now,” said 26 year-old Gemma. “We’ll be able to book our dream barn wedding within the next year. It’s come at such a perfect time.”
Gemma, who works in IT Sales, also has a five-year-old daughter to treat.
“Megan will definitely be a flower girl but the only other thing she’s asked for is a trip to the trampoline centre. I think we can take her a couple of times.”
Steven Williams was joined by his wife Carol when he was presented with his cheque by People’s Postcode Lottery Ambassador Jeff Brazier.
Thee 41 year-old, who works as a database developer, has one idea of how to spend the money.
“We’ve had the same car for ten years so I think it’s time for an upgrade. “
We live near some of the best car garages in the country so it will be really nice to go in and buy one outright.”
And there is also a third £30,000 winner in the postcode who has yet to learn of their good fortune.
Ambassador Jeff said: “It’s been a fairytale Street Prize with two lovely couples receiving £30,000 each. This money means that Gemma and Matt can have the wedding of their dreams. I wish them all the very best. The winner who wasn’t available is in for a very nice surprise too.”
A local cause that has received support from players is Achieving Results in Communities (ARC) that was awarded £2,000 from players. ARC will work in partnership with The Way Ahead Project, a drop-in day centre at the Salvation Army in Leamington.
