A MAN and a 16 year-old boy have been arrested in connection with a suspected stabbing in Leamington’s Pump Room Gardens on Tuesday afternoon (August 11).

The 21 year-old man and the teenager are in custody after police were called to the gardens shortly before 2pm after a man sustained injuries to his shoulder, believed to have been caused by a ‘bladed weapon’.

The victim, in his 20s, is being treated at Walsgrave Hospital in Coventry for the injuries, which are not thought to be life changing or life threatening.

The arrested man is from Leamington, and the boy from Warwick. Both are being questioned by detectives.

Officers, including forensic specialists, were working at both ends of the Lindon Arches running parallel to the Parade, during the afternoon.

Police reported a weapon was recovered from the scene.

Anyone saw the incident or who has information is urged to contact DC 534 Marcus Franklin on 101 quoting incident number 201 of August 11.
