Teddy Bear Picnic set to raise money for Warwick Hospital appeal

Leamington Editorial 30th Jun, 2017   0

IF you go down to Ragley Hall you can be sure of a big surprise – all in aid of Warwick Hospital’s maternity appeal.

Fund-raisers for the Birth and Babies appeal – which raises money for the hospital’s new Midwife Led Unit – are organising a Teddy Bear Picnic for all ages.

There will be a number of activities on the day, including the chance for little teddy bears to play on the adventure playground, hear readings of ‘Tales of Shakespuss’ by author Melissa Mailer-Yates and a best dressed teddy bear competition, to name just a few.

The event on Friday September 1 will be held between 11.30am and 4pm at Ragley Hall Gardens.

Money raised will go to the appeal, which aims to raise £200,000 to help make the birthing unit the best it can be.

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust will be funding the build but NHS funds only go on functional materials and equipment. The additional money will be invested into special enhancements like special baby cribs and stands, rather than standard plastic cots, as well as upgrade the furnishings to make the unit feel like a home-from-home.

Tickets to the Teddy Bear Picnic cost £10 for adults and £2 for children with under 5s going free.
