DRAGONS will be paddling furiously down the Avon on Sunday (September 20).
The dragon boat race organised by Warwick’s Rotary Club will be raising money for The Myton Hospices and Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Now in its second year, 20 teams of 16 rowers will be battling it out from 10am.
Organisers aim to exceed last year’s £7,000 raised with a barbecue, bouncy castle and a fun fair along the river bank.
Myton community fund-raiser Anita Burrows said: “It is going to be a fantastic day, with lots of excitement taking place on the water and also along the river bank. We are thrilled to be working with the Rotary Club of Warwick Avon at this event and thank them for all of their wonderful support. Let’s hope we can raise as much money as possible.”
