WARWICK District Foodbank has received a much-needed boost.
The foodbank received a £3,300 donation from DK Heating. It is the fourth year the gas firm has organised a campaign along with other local businesses to raise funds for the foodbank.
Foodbank operations manager Andy Bower said: “This very generous donation is a big boost to our plans to purchase a vehicle to assist us with weekly deliveries to our seven foodbank distribution centres.
“The ‘van fund’ was kick started by the £2,100 donation we received from this group last year and now we are very close to our target.”
The foodbank distributes some 600kg food a week across its seven centres, and has around 80 new people referred every week.
