Talented pups to showcase their skills at Dogs for Good Fun Day

Leamington Editorial 13th Jun, 2018   0

TALENTED assistance dogs will be the stars of the show at the Dogs for Good Fun Day.

The annual free event will see two and four-legged-friends descend on Stoneleigh Park on Saturday (June 16) between 11am and 3pm.

The charity – which is celebrating its 30th anniversary – will highlight the day with an RAF flypast at 1.45pm.

There will also be Dogs for Good demonstrations, showcasing the work the assistance dogs do – from helping people get out of bed to picking up remote controls and opening doors.

Police dogs will also be on hand to demonstrate how they hunt down evidence of a crime and restrain ficticious criminals.

And awards will be given out in the fun dog show, in categories from waggiest tail to cutest puppy. Dogs can also try their paws at dog agility and flyball courses.

There will also be face painting, circus workshops, a falconry display and a disability-friendly sportszone, along with a host of stalls.

Volunteers from Marks and Spencer in Leamington will also be on hand to help ensure the day runs smoothly.

Entry is free but the charity suggests a £3 donation for car parking and a voluntary donation for activities.
