TWO suspected illegal immigrants were picked-up by police in a South Warwickshire village on Tuesday evening (August 11).

Police descended on Napton near Southam around 8pm where they found the men thought to be of Chinese or Vietnamese origin.

It is understood they stowed away on a boat towed back from Calais. Five men are believed to have got off, and were spotted by an eye-witness who saw them walking towards the village.

Two were seen in a local shop – although it is not know if they were the two arrested.

Warwickshire Police confirmed two men had been arrested under suspicion of entering the UK illegally and have since been handed over to Border Control.
