ART lovers in Leamington are promised the chance to regularly view new works.
Slate Art Gallery opens its doors on Friday July 7 showcasing work by artists from across the UK.
Slate owner Kate Livingston, who has been running independent art galleries for the last five years, said: “I’ve seen a lot of galleries come and go but Slate is something special. Art galleries tend to get a bad rap of being stuffy or pretentious but we welcome a relaxed and open atmosphere where anyone can come along and enjoy the space. There really is something for everyone.”
The first exhibition at the Oxford Street gallery will be a mixture of traditional and contemporary work from new artists that Kate wants to celebrate, plus artists she has worked with over the years.
Artwork will be available to buy on the evening and throughout July, with a new photography exhibition starting on July 28.
Kate added: “Slate is not just a static gallery with the same art from month to month. The unique thing about our venue is that we install a new exhibition every three weeks, giving art lovers the chance to see some really wonderful and interesting pieces on a regular basis. We are also available for private parties and events, it’s a really wonderful space!”
Slate Art Gallery opens with special launch party from 6.30pm to 9.30pm on Friday.
