School with no playing field celebrates sporty success

Ian Hughes 12th Jul, 2018

A SPORTY school in Leamington is celebrating success on the rounders field – despite not having a playing field of its own.

Clapham Terrace Primary School has been crowned Warwickshire champions after seeing off the competition in the School Games.

The tournament, hosted by the University of Warwick, saw the best 15 teams from Warwickshire, Coventry and Solihull battle it out for the title.

The achievement was even more impressive as the school has to practise on local parks and nearby Campion Secondary School’s playing field.

Headteacher Julie Miles said: “We are all so proud of the hard work, outstanding performances and excellent team spirit shown by every player in the squad.”
