SCAMMERS have been targeting Kenilworth residents, telling them there is a warrant out for their arrest for the non-payment of tax.
A number of people living in the town reported receiving calls purporting to be from HMRC.
There is often a second call to victims a few days later.
Police say that they, HMRC and banks would never ring people and ask for personal or bank details over the phone.
Officers advise anyone who receives a call to hang up immediately, make a note of the number and call 101 to contact police.
They are also urging people to speak to vulnerable friends and relatives about the scam.
