SANTA’S Sleigh enjoyed a record-breaking year.
Volunteers from Leamington Round Table and 41 Club went door-to-door over five days and raised £2,020 to be split between the Leamington Night Shelter and the Women’s Refuge.
Gary Craine, chairman of Leamington Round Table, said: “Again this year the residents of Leamington really entered into the Christmas spirit, gave generously and came out in their masses to support Santa as he toured the streets. We were delighted to be able to lend Santa our newly built high-tech Sleigh, too!”
Also helping out again this year were Arbury Motor Group who sponsored the collection and also provided a Skoda Karoq to assist Santa on his journey.
William Shakesheff, sales manager based at Arbury in Leamington, said: “We’re very proud to have been involved again this year, and in fact have extended this support to Round Tables near all of our Arbury dealerships. We’d like to wish all our customers a very Merry Christmas and happy motoring in 2019.”
Leamington Round Table is over 70 years old and is part of a national organisation for men aged 18 to 45 who do good in their local community, while also enjoying social events.
The Ladies’ Circle is the equivalent organisation for women. New Round Table members are being sought to join their growing, local team.
