ECO-FRIENDLY pupils have picked up on a litter problem at their local play area.
Year 7 students from North Leamington School, who first met at the school’s eco club, have been meeting to litter pick at Dragon Fields every Monday after school.
They have been helped by local group the Friends of Dragon Fields and were joined on a litter pick by local councillor Bill Gifford.
He said: “This is a play area that has been misused, so it is wonderful to see these young people setting such a good example.”
School headteacher Joy Mitchell said: “I am thrilled to see our pupils using their initiative to help the environment and support their local community.
“They have committed their free time to make the play area a safe and welcoming place for children and families to use and we as a school are very proud of their hard work.”
