A THOUGHTFUL Leamington headteacher has written to pupils preparing to go to his secondary school in September.
Chris Gabbett, from Trinity School, has sent out a personal letter introducing himself, and hoping to find out more about the prospective year sevens.
Starting a secondary school can be daunting, but Chris hopes his gesture will make the new intake feel welcome and ease any anxieties.
And it seems to have done the trick.
September-starter Joe Burke said: “It was so nice to get a letter through the post that was just for me!
“I wrote back telling Chris all about myself. Now I can’t wait to go there!”
Chris, prides himself on knowing all of his pupil’s names, told The Observer what prompted him to write to new pupils.
“It’s a great way to find out what everyone’s interested in.
“I’m really looking forward to meeting them all at their induction day in a few weeks.”
