Police release CCTV from Wellesbourne robbery

Leamington Editorial 18th May, 2017   0

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a robbery at the Co-op in Wellesbourne.

They have released CCTV footage of two masked men who burst into the store at around 6am on Monday January 18 and demanded access to the safe.

A member of staff, a woman in her 60s, was assaulted but not seriously injured.

The thieves eventually left the shop empty-handed and drove off in a dark vehicle, believed to be a Vauxhall Corsa.

Det Con Hannah Goult said: “We are releasing the CCTV images in the hope that someone will recognise the individuals. Other lines of enquiry have not been successful in identifying these persons, so we are hoping that the public can help us.”

Anyone with information that could help police with their investigations should call 101 and quote incident 29 of January 16 2017. Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers via crimestoppers-uk.org or by calling 0800 555 111.
