Patient raises money for unit where he receives cancer treatment

Leamington Editorial 28th May, 2017   0

A GRATEFUL patient has raised more than £800 to say thank you for for his recent cancer care.

Keith Chadwick held a night of comedy and music in aid of the Aylesford Unit at Warwick Hospital.

The 57 year-old said: “While waiting for my regular clinic appointment, I noticed one of the big promotional cheques highlighting a large donation to the unit. This made me think that I should try and do something too, especially for the staff there who have been absolutely fantastic during my year’s treatment at the unit.”

And Keith is hoping to raise even more for the unit by releasing a dvd of the event – which featured amateur comedians and musicians.

South Warwickshire Foundation Trust nurse consultant Carole Connor said: “We are delighted that Keith has managed to raise so much for our unit in such a fun way, fundraising like this makes such a difference in making the environment more comfortable for patients.”

The money raised will pay for staff training equipment.
