PLANS to transform offices on The Parade into accommodation have been given the green light, despite a number of objections.
The application to turn the offices above the Cat’s Protection shop into a multi-occupancy accommodation with ten bedrooms and three bathrooms was submitted in December last year.
Parking – which is already limited in Leamington town centre – is among the concerns raised, together with potential problems with increased rubbish.
Coun Jayne Knight expressed concern only three bathrooms between ten occupants was simply a way of maximising rent.
The go-ahead comes just weeks after another controversial application was submitted to convert space above the former Co-op store on Warwick Street into 11 student flats.
The owner says he has been unable to find anyone to take over the three storey building. The plans also include turning the former store space into four smaller retail units.
