A NEW maternity unit in Warwick has received a donation from Kenilworth Ladies Circle and Round Table.
The midwife-led unit is currently being built at Warwick Hospital, with a ‘Birth and Babies appeal’ aiming to raise money to fund enhancements.
And the appeal had a boost to its coffers when the two organisations donated £2,100 from their summer ball.
The Ladies Circle will continue to donate throughout the year as the appeal is one of their chosen charities.
Chair Michelle Shearer said: “We hope the Kenilworth Ladies Circle will be able to make a difference to making the new midwife led birthing centre amazing for women and their families.”
The money will go towards making the environment a home-from-home with specialist equipment such as cribs beyond NHS standard which cost £400 each.
