MYTON Hospice has nearly doubled the amount it hoped to raise on a global day of fund-raising.
The charity joined in with ‘Giving Tuesday’ – which aims to encourage people to think of those in need around Christmas time.
And while fund-raisers had hoped to raise £3,200, which would pay for a week of inpatient care, they nearly doubled their target and reached more than £6,000.
Chief executive Ruth Freeman said: “I want to say a massive thank you to everybody who donated to our Giving Tuesday campaign. The money we raised is enough to fund an inpatient bed for almost two weeks, which is an amazing amount.”
