Man who produced cannabis in former Leamington motorbike showroom jailed

A MAN who produced cannabis in a former Leamington motorbike showroom has been jailed.

Police executed a warrant at a property on Clemens Street on March 15 where they found a ‘significant’ number of cannabis plants with a potential value of up to £360,000.

Officers say the room had a ‘sophisticated’ set-up’ with ultra-violet lights and the bypassing of electricity.

Eduard Elezi was found inside a room in the building which contained bedding, a stocked fridge, a phone and keys.

Elezi, age 27 of no fixed address, was arrested at the scene and later charged with producing a Class B drug and abstracting electricity.

He pleaded guilty and appeared at Warwick Crown Court on May 6 where he was sentenced to 15 months imprisonment.

PC James Lake said “This is a great result and once again shows that we are taking drug dealing seriously in Leamington.

“The fact the judge has imposed a custodial sentence shows that they share our view that this kind of offending is not acceptable.

“If anyone has any information about drug production, dealing or use I would encourage them to contact us and share their concerns. I hope that this shows that we will act on any information that is given to us.”

Call police on 101 or ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 to give information anonymously.
