Man grabs woman by throat on footpath near River Leam

A WOMAN was grabbed round the throat by a man in Leamington.

Police are appealing for witnesses following the assault near Milverton Hill at around 5.30pm on Tuesday June 19 on a path near the River Leam.

The middle aged man grabbed the woman, who he knew, by the throat.

Two men and a woman are understood to have intervened, and took the man away from the scene.




But the trio left without giving their details to the victim.

Officers are now appealing for those who saw the incident or anyone with information to contact them.


Police say the incident was isolated and of no risk to the wider community.
