THE CLASS of 1984/85 at Kenilworth School are invited to a reunion.
It takes place at the Tiltyard Pub on Leyes Lane – having been switched from the Virgins & Castle pub owing to accommodate all wanting to attend – on Saturday February 27 at 7.30pm.
Organiser Jayne Atkins said: “Kenilworth School was split into two schools – Abbey Hall & Priory Hall. All Kenilworth Junior school pupils were split between the two schools and although there was always plenty of friendly rivalry we were a very happy year group.
“We started a Facebook Page up to see if there would be any interest in getting people together and it has snowballed.
“We even have two old school friends coming from USA – one from Orlando, one from New York – and both have already booked their flights. People are travelling from all over the UK too.
“We are amazed at the response. I started by putting a few photo’s I’d looked out from school days, parties, etc. and it’s gone mad.
We have people coming out of the woodwork that we haven’t seen for years. People seem very excited about all getting together and seeing how everyone has changed, swapping memories etc. It’s lovely.
“We are hoping to reach as many ex pupils as we can from the two schools, including teachers & any staff.
“We know there are a lot of ex teachers still living in Kenilworth and locally and really hope they will come along and join us.
“Also if people have moved away from the area, parents or relatives may still be in the area and can pass on the details to the relevant people. Not everyone is on social media (Facebook) although this has been our main source of contacting people from near and far.
