Hospice volunteers thanked for dedication

VOLUNTEERS at Myton Hospice have been thanked for their dedication.

And the hospice, which provides palliative and supportive care to patients and their families in Coventry and Warwickshire, is keen to welcome new volunteers.

Head of volunteering Charlotte Witteridge, speaking during national Volunteers Week, said: “At Myton we have more than 1,000 volunteers who give their time to enable us to continue to be there for people with terminal and life limiting illnesses and their families in Coventry and Warwickshire when they need us most.

“Volunteers support Myton in a variety of different ways – from donating their time to help with our fundraising efforts to volunteering in our shops.

“By donating their time, skills, compassion and kindness, our volunteers make such a difference to the services and experience that we are able to provide to patients and their families.

“In the last year, volunteers have contributed over 155,000 hours to Myton, which is estimated to have added a value of over £1.5million to our organisation – a staggering amount!

“We are incredibly thankful to our volunteers for the time they give, and the dedication and passion that they bring, we couldn’t do it without them! We would also love to hear from new people who would like to join our team.”
