Helping Hands given generous gift from Leamington Round Table

Leamington Editorial 21st Dec, 2017   0

A CHRISTMAS gift of £10,000 has been donated to homelessness support charity Helping Hands.

Charity chief executive Lianne Kirkman says the generous donation from Leamington Round Table means Helping Hands can do even more life-changing work for vulnerable people and those without a home.

The Round Table raised the funds through this year’s Regency Run. It has also vowed to donate £10,000 a year for the next two years.

Lianne told the Observer: “The Round Table were instrumental in 2016 in funding the conversion of a former shop into a super community facility where we can give a hand up for those in difficult situations.

“We have provided thousands of meals, provided training in catering and a number of courses including basic mathematics. The £10,000 will help develop the next stage of works and facilities upstairs at 12 Gloucester Street.”

Leamington Round Table welcomes new members between the age of 18 to 45. Visit www.leamingtonroundtable.org.uk to find out more.
