LEAMINGTON community woodland Foundry Wood has been shortlisted for a £5,000 grant to restore its pond – but needs your vote.
The woodland on the site of the former Ford Foundry is in the running alongside nine other projects in Severn Trent’s Community Fund.
A Foundry Wood spokesperson said: “The pond, installed in 2012, dried up a few summers ago.
“So we’ve applied for funding to strip it out, put in a new lining and re-establish the habitat around it. We’ll aim to do this in the Autumn to minimise disruption to wildlife.
“The restored pond will be a great habitat for newts, other pond creatures, dragonflies, and the birds.”
Votes need to be made by midnight on Sunday (April 24).
