A FORMER vet practice in Kenilworth is to be turned into a children’s home.
The surgery on Waverley Road closed in 2015 and has since been converted into a family home.
But approval has been granted to turn it into a children’s home for up to five local young people aged eight to 18-years-old.
It will be used for medium to long-term care for those with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties who may have suffered neglect, abuse or trauma.
A spokesman representing the developer, said: “The house will offer a safe, structured and caring therapeutic environment to local children and young people, in the local authority’s care, who are living away from their parents or guardian, or where a foster placement is not currently considered appropriate.”
Children will have separate rooms, share household chores and eat meals together.
