Focus on holistic healthcare prompts GP surgery name change

Leamington Editorial 12th Jul, 2019   0

A FOCUS on holistic healthcare has led a Warwick GP practice to change its name.

The surgery at Chase Meadow is now called Chase Meadow Health Centre instead of The New Dispensary.

GPs say the move reflects a national focus towards holistic healthcare and its ethos towards health and wellbeing. This includes working with Chase Meadow Community Centre, which has recently launched two walking for health groups and a ‘wellbeing menu’ – a directory of local services that may be more therapeutic than a doctors appointment.

Practice partner Peter Gregory said: “It made sense to change our practice name to something that reflected not just our location but our ethos on health and well-being.

“The fantastic thing about the community initiatives is that they are not just available to our patients, they can be accessed by anyone who wants to improve their own health and the menu will be available on our website for everyone to access.”

The walks leave from the community centre on Tuesdays at 11am and from outside the Unicorn at 7pm.
