ACTIVE people across Warwick district have been enjoying free family fitness fun days.
They were held at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre in Warwick, and at Abbey Fields Swimming Pool and Castle Farm Recreation Centre, both in Kenilworth.
The celebrations marked the start of a new partnership between leisure operator Everyone Active and Warwick District Council.
More than 350 people attended the events, which included free taster swimming sessions in both the outdoor and indoor swimming pools at Abbey Fields Swimming Pool.
People were also given the opportunity to try out the brand new, state-of-the-art gym equipment on offer in the existing gym at St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre and take part in free taster sessions at the gym at the nearby Castle Farm Recreation Centre.
Everyone Active area manager Toni Gaskins said: “We were delighted to see so many people turn out to enjoy the events. It was a fantastic opportunity for us to showcase all of the different ways that the community can be more active.
“We’re very excited to begin this new partnership with the Council and enjoyed celebrating the occasion with local people. We hope people will enjoy the extensive facilities on offer across Warwick District.”
Warwick District Council’s culture spokesman Coun Michael Coker added: “It was great to see our local community visiting the leisure centres and seeing for themselves the exciting new programmes and activities Everyone Active are bringing to our district.”
Everyone Active has now taken over the management of St Nicholas Park and Leamington’s Newbold Comyn leisure centres – currently the focus of a £14.5million redevelopment – together with Abbey Fields Swimming Pool, Castle Farm Recreation Centre, the John Atkinson Sports Centre, and Meadow Community Sports Centre.
