Drivers can pay to park using their mobile phones

RINGGO is being introduced in 28 off-street car parks across the Warwick district from Monday (November 19).

The service available as an app for apple or android phones allows drivers to link to a debit or credit card to pay for parking.

Drivers can also extend their stay up to the maximum time allowed in their car park if delayed for any reason while out and about.

They can also choose to receive RingGo text reminders which will notify them ten minutes before their parking time is due to run out.

District neighbourhood services spokeswoman Coun Moira-Ann Grainger said: “We have listened to our car park users and introduced RingGo as a more convenient way to pay for parking in all of our car parks.

“There is no more hunting around for change, or waiting in a queue to pay – you just use the app on your phone, it couldn’t be easier.”

RingGo usage costs 15p per transaction, while optional text reminders are 20p each. Drivers will still also be able to pay with cash.
