POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a driver head butted a man and tried to rob his keys.

A man was driving his work van along Five Ways Road from Shrewley on January 26 at around 2pm when he saw a truck trying to pass.

The driver pulled over, allowing him to overtake, but the truck driver then came to a stop in front of the van.

The van driver and the truck’s passenger both exited their vehicles but the van driver was then head butted before his keys were demanded for.

After a brief altercation the truck’s passenger returned to his vehicle at the urging of its driver before leaving the scene.

The van driver received injuries to his face and hand but managed to prevent the robbery.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to call 101 and speak to police.
