GIFTED musician ChenChen Pan has won the prestigious Solihull Competitive Music Festival for the second year running – at the grand young age of eight.

The pupil at Crackley Hall School in Kenilworth dazzled judges with her performance of Heinrich Hofmann’s swooning piece Am Abend.

ChenChen took her latest success in her stride.

She said: ““I’m getting ready for my Grade 5 exam in November so this gave me a chance to practise in front of an audience.”

Crackley Hall Headteacher Rob Duigan praised ChenChen’s success.

He said: “She is such a hard working young lady who practises the piano every day of the week in order to be at the top of her game.

“We’re lucky enough at Crackley Hall to have heard her play many times and I know that she continues to be an inspiration to all our younger musicians.”
