Coffee lovers can trial recycling pods with Warwick District Council

Leamington Editorial 6th Apr, 2018 Updated: 13th Oct, 2023   0

A TRIAL will allow households in Warwick district to recycle coffee pods from the machine brand Tassimo.

Residents will need to sign up for the trial which is running until September 23, to receive Tassimo recycling bags, which will be collected along with their usual household recycling, or can be taken to a drop-off point.

Traditionally, coffee pods have not been accepted in household recycling collections due to the complex mix of materials making them hard to separate and recycle.

Coun Moira-Ann Grainger from Warwick District Council said: “Warwick District Council is committed to offering residents the opportunity to recycle as many different types of materials as possible.

“We would like to encourage residents with a Tassimo machine to take part and to tell any friends or family with a machine to join them.”

Visit www.warwickdc.gov.uk/tassimorecycling to sign up.
