ALZHEIMER’S Society has bagged a donation of nearly £4,000 thanks to the Heart of England Co-Operative.
The charity – which supports those suffering with dementia – has received the donation from the sales of 5p carrier bags.
With nearly 8,000 people in Warwickshire suffering from dementia, the charity hopes to put the money to use by funding a dementia support worker or towards research into the illness.
The Co-op also donated £3,850 to Macmillan Cancer Support from the sale of carrier bags. The money will go to helping people affected by cancer with practical, medical, emotional and financial support.
