Full Tilt Online Poker Series

Full Tilt Poker re-launched their new site on November 6th after a long legal dispute which ended with The Rational Group (Owners of PokerStars) taking over the Full Tilt’s assets. After making payments to the American Department of Justice and putting payment plans into place to refund all of the Non-American players, Full Tilt were given the green light to go back online.

The FTOPS is an online series of poker tournaments which was held quarterly on Full Tilt until their license was revoked on ‘Black Friday’. This series of tournaments was one of the most important dates on any professional’s calendar, with 40 tournaments ranging from all flavours of poker. The tournaments normally contained buy-ins ranging from $100 up to a whopping $10,000 for different events, and the games covered No Limit Hold ‘em, Pot Limit Omaha, Stud and Mixed rotation games.

FTOPS XIX (19) was held in February 2011, and had the biggest main event up to that point in Full Tilt history. With a buy in of $600 + $40 over 14,000 signed up for the event, which had a collective prize pool of over $8.6 million. A deal was made on the last table of that event, which netted 2nd place a prize of over $1 million from a single tournament.

These events are massive in the online poker world, and now that Full Tilt has been relicense and is coming back to online poker, a recent announcement was that the next event: The Full Tilt Online Poker Series XXI (21) will be coming back online in December of this year, just 1 month after the re-launch.

This news comes at a fantastic time for players who are deciding whether to keep playing on Full Tilt or not after their re-launch. These tournaments will keep a lot of players at Full Tilt, by offering them a chance at the big bucks; so close to their re-launch.

With only a month to go, Full Tilt will be offering many satellites to any of the forty plus events which will be playing out over December. This means that a lot of players will stick around for any small buy in satellites which could offer seats in some of the biggest online tournaments of the year.

This along with the new welcome package (Deal Me In) which is also available is certainly going a long way to helping Full Tilt re-establish themselves on top of the online poker world.
